RUMOUR: Treyarch developing Black Ops 2

Posted By | On 25th, Nov. 2011

The ‘Rumour Machine’ section of the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK claims that Treyarch is working on another Call of Duty, something that does not even need predicting, and that the game they’re working on is probably Black Ops 2, direct sequel to their 2010 blockbuster title Call of Duty: Black Ops.

“Treyarch’s next COD game will be a direct sequel to Black Ops,” the magazine reads.

Considering the success Black Ops got, Activision and Treyarch would be absolutely foolish to let go of the brand name, which is probably as strong as the Modern Warfare brand name itself.

Call of Duty: Black Ops launched in November last year and received great praise from one and all, us included. It also sold like crazy- selling a total of 25 million units and become the best selling non-bundled game of all time.

A recent rumour also suggested that the next title Treyarch was working on was being developed for a “new console.” Could this be Black Ops 2 we’re talking about, or an entirely different game?
