A recent report claimed that Konami had greenlit a ground-up remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, which was reportedly in development at the Singapore-based port specialist studio Virtuos. Now, new developments have possibly lent further credence to that report.
As spotted by @FaizShaikh7681 on Twitter, the LinkedIn page of a former Virtuos employee suggests that the studio is indeed working on such a project. Zhiyang Li, who was Lead Software Engineer at Virtuos until June 2019, says on his LinkedIn page that at the studio, he worked on an “unannounced AAA action-adventure remake”. While details on the project itself are obviously scant, there is mention of 4K support on all platforms.
The aforementioned report mentioned that Konami would be announcing several of its upcoming revivals, which will also allegedly include an internally developed Castlevania game and the long-rumoured Silent Hill project, some time in 2022, so we should know in the not-too-distant future what this project at Virtuos was. It does fall in line with the Metal Gear Solid 3 reports though, so series fans have reason to be optimistic.
