Samurai Shodown

Darli Dagger will be the first of three brand new characters coming to the newest installment of the long-running Samurai Shodown series in the 16 character roster. She was revealed at PAX East 2019 by developer SNK in a panel that you can watch below.

Darli Dagger joins the cast of feudal fighters as a shipwright raised by pirates. While no gameplay footage was shown for the character, game designer Joshua Weatherford promised that she was unique and was one of the few characters that “has something special when she’s disarmed.” We’ll have to see what that is and how the character plays when SNK shows in-game footage of Dagger in action.

Samurai Shodown is the seventh installment of the fighting games series and the first mainline entry to release since Samurai Shodown VI in 2005. It will release in June for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Switch in Q4 2019 and for PC at a later date.
