The Samurai Shodown revival has taken the gaming fighting scene by storm, and is coming to various different platforms soon. But for now we’ve got to refocus a bit on what systems it’s currently on, as we look ahead to some upcoming DLC. The game has a pretty steady and extensive DLC plan, and this month we go to the creepy side of the samurai-themed fighter with Basara.

Originally introduced in Samurai Shodown 3, Basara is an undead, zombie-like creature who uses an oversized shuriken hooked to a chain. As you can see in the video below, he’s a good fit for the Halloween month, as he’s a rather odd fellow. The music even changes to a creepier tone as he twists and yelps in several unnatural ways.

Samurai Shodown is available now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will also launch soon for Switch, PC, and Stadia. Basara will release on available platforms October 15th.
