Sea of Stars - Dawn of Equinox

Sea of Stars will receive its big free content update, Dawn of Equinox, on November 12th for all platforms. Besides local co-op for up to three players, Sabotage Studio revealed that it represents the “fully realized vision” of the title’s “spectacular adventure.”

Some of the changes and new features include Mystery Locks in combat to deal with spells from new enemies alongside Combo Points persisting after fights and balance changes. The Prologue has also seen changes, offering combat from the get-go, and there’s a new cinematic cutscene to “accentuate a pivotal moment in the original adventure.”

Players can also look forward to a new Relic that activates Speedrunner Mode and three new difficulty presets. There are also new Relics to play with while existing ones have been improved. For example, the parrot Relic will help track collectibles and challenges better.

Sea of Stars is available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It’s amassed over five million players, but this isn’t the end of support, as the Throes of the Watchmaker DLC arrives in Spring 2025.
