Sea of Thieves

Rare’s Sea of Thieves looks like the comeback story of a lifetime. After almost a decade of the studio slowly sliding into irrelevance, thanks to increasingly misguided and middling projects, Sea of Thieves looks to be just the kind of game that made Rare such a beloved studio, and a household name, to begin with. It looks charming, it looks fun- and it looks like nothing else on the market.

Perhaps equally importantly, it also looks technically incredible- gorgeous graphics with a strong artstyle complemented with some incredible tech means that we have a hell of a looker here on our hands. In this new trailer for the game, Software Director Andy Dennison and Senior Software Engineer Mark Lucas explain the tech that powers the game, and makes it look as good as it does.

Sea of Thieves is due out on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs next year. Make sure to check out the new trailer below, and let us know what you think.
