Sea of Thieves Gets Video Addressing State of Game and Issues, New Update Available Now to Download

A pirate’s life requires a development roadmap.

Okay, so let’s, for a moment, put aside the various content and structural issues, perceived or otherwise, that people have with Sea of Thieves. Even without considering those, the game’s launch has been rough. Server issues, disconnections, multiple maintenance sessions… it’s not been smooth sailing.

Those issues, and the state of the game as it stands right now, have been addressed by Rare in a brand new video, which also talks about a major new update for the game that was released this morning. This update is actually a full client redownload (which was the easiest way to get the update out quick)—thankfully, the client isn’t too big, so the download shouldn’t be too painful.

You can check out the video for yourself below. Rare also talks about “record breaking numbers” for the game, though we don’t get anything more specific than that. Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox One and on Windows 10 PCs.
