Sea of Thieves is Getting a Day One Patch- Literally

Now this is classic Rare.

Day one patches are sadly a reality in today’s day and age- just about every major game that is released these days has a major day one update that adds functionality and polish that, really, should have been in the game before it went gold to begin with.

It looks like Rare has decided to poke fun at the whole trend with their upcoming Sea of Thieves– they have announced a brand new day one patch for the pirate themed shared world adventure game, which releases tomorrow, in the most literal way possible, following a suggestion on the Sea of Thieves subreddit. An eye patch, with the number one plastered over it, will be available in the game’s clothing store- and it will be called “day one patch.” Which is absolutely fantastic, and great satire, and also indicative of the kind of humour Rare used to be known for back in its heyday.

Sea of Thieves launches exclusively on Xbox One and on Windows 10 PCs tomorrow.
