Sea of Thieves- Microsoft Announces Two New Expansion Packs

Microsoft has announced two new expansion packs for its seafaring adventure.

Sea of Thieves didn’t exactly get the best critical reception from reviewers, and one of the things it got criticized for was the fact that it felt a little shallow- a little empty, a little lacking in content. Rare seem to be taking steps to address that criticism directly. With one expansion for the game, titled The Hungering Deep, already in the pipeline, at their E3 press event earlier today, Microsoft announced two more expansion packs for Sea of Thieves with a new trailer.

The first one, called Cursed Sails, will be coming in July, and its focus will be on populating the game’s seas, and will add NPCs to the game in the form of crews of undead skeleton soldiers. The second expansion pack, called Forbidden Shores, will be adding a new area to the game’s map.

The area it will be adding looks quite different from what the base game is like, being distinctly more apocalyptic-y looking with “fire and ash”, as the trailer describes it, and volcanoes. You can take a look at what both the expansions are going to be like in the trailer below.
