Sea of Thieves New 4K Video Shows Off Galleon Racing

As always, the game continues to look great.

A brand new video for Sea of Thieves shows off a lot of the technology we can expect to be prominent in the game when it releases next year- for instance, the video is in 4K, a resolution the game will almost certainly support on PC and Xbox One X. The video also shows off cross-platform play between the Windows 10 and Xbox one versions of the game- something that was confirmed at Gamescom last month, and which should give the game’s shared world a bigger pool of players to draw from.

Cross platform play in Sea of Thieves will be entirely seamless- it’s a rather ambitious implementation of the concept. All of that aside, we also get to see some Galleon Racing in this video- giant bulky ships racing somehow manages to be exciting. Somehow.

Sea of Thieves will launch in early 2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The game was originally due out for later this year, but it has been delayed into the next. Make sure to watch the video below.
