Sea of Thieves New Trailer Shows Off The Tech Powering The Clouds

Rare’s Sea of Thieves looks utterly charming and great fun to play (and frankly, for a studio that has more than lost its way in recent years, it looks to be an excellent return to form), but the one thing about it that is often ignored in discussions about it is that it is also a technically highly impressive game. The art style may take attention away from the tech powering the game, but the tech is all there.

That’s why the last few videos that Rare have released for the game have all focused on showing off some aspect or the other of the game’s tech. This new one? It shows us Principal Technical Artist Valentine Kozin explain the tech that is being used to power the gorgeous and fluffy clouds that you can see in the sky in Sea of Thieves.

Sea of Thieves itself is due out on Xbox One and PCs running Windows 10 some time next year. Meanwhile, check out the video below.
