Sega has sued Level 5 claiming they infringed two of their patents

Why bros?

Sega has gone crazy, or they are perfectly in their rights to sue Level 5. Yes, they have sued the company. I cannot pick between both sides because this is so confusing. On one hand we have Level 5, a company that is harmless like a puppy, but you could probably rage at the crappy games they make. But not Ni No Kuni, that’s awesome.

The reason given was because Level 5 infringed on two patents mostly related to stylus use on the Nintendo DS. Apparently they hold some sort of patent for that. We are digging around and will report the findings soon about which patent it is.

Level 5 will challenge this because they are a tough company, and yeah, 900 million Yen will probably sink them. They have said that they will respond to comments soon and declined to say anything further.

According to Sega “two patents acquired by the company has been compromised.”

Well, not much information is given on this case expect the following we wrote above. Since this is being reported from Japan, we will wait a bit till it comes to the west, but so far Level 5 has a fight on their hands.
