The Pokemon Company has announced seven more online competitions in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, giving players around the world even more opportunities to battle each other in online battles. These will all be in addition to the Pokemon World Championships and Pokemon International Challenge May, the latter of which is currently in progress.
The online competitions are good ways for veteran Pokemon players to flex their muscles and test their mettle against other players around the world; some events even let players accrue Championship Points, which they can use to get an invite to battle in the World Championships.
Here’s the schedule for the online competitions in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y:
May 16–18: 2014 International Challenge May. Registration is closed.
June 6–8: Think Fast Competition: Single Battle.
Late June: 2014 International Challenge June.
July: Eevee Friendly Match [Name TBD].
July: All Star Battle [Name TBD].
August: Think Fast Competition: Double Battle.
Autumn: Fairy-type Cup [Name TBD].
Autumn: Halloween Party [Name TBD].
Make sure to register for the events you want to battle in. The June events, in particular, have rapidly approaching deadlines.
Pokemon X and Y are the latest installments in the long running series that were released last year to great critical and commercial success; the newest installments in the series, Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire, have been announced for a November release this year on 3DS. They will be remakes of 2003’s fan favorite games, Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.
