Shadow of the Tomb Raider is planned to be the final entry in Eidos ad Square Enix’s new age rebooted trilogy of the classic action adventure franchise. We’ve been getting to see more and more of the game over the last few weeks. A recent trailer, for example, walked us through the game’s hub world, which is planned to be the biggest one the series has ever had.
This new trailer, on the other hand, shows us the kinds of treacherous handholds, footholds, old bridges, and the like, Lara Croft will have to deal with on this adventure, as she climbs, jumps, walks, runs, sneaks, and more through ancient caverns and relics. Much like Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series, the emphasis here seems to be on the scripted spectacle of the thing, rather than the pure platforming challenge that the older games often posed. Although, given how well Eidos Montreal look to be pulling that off, I don’t think anyone will be complaining.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider launches on September 14th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
