Shenmue 3 Not Planned for Nintendo Switch, Series Creator Yu Suzuki Says

The key words here are “for now”.

Shenmue 3, the long awaited third entry in Sega and Yu Suzuki’s legendary marshal arts action RPG franchise, is due out this year. When it launches, it will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC- but what about other systems? What about, for example, the Nintendo Switch, which has a built in audience for Japanese games in Shenmue’s vein?

Apparently, for now, there are no plans for a Switch version of the game. Speaking to Gameblog.fr, Yu Suzuki noted, in response to a question, that no Switch version of the game is planned for now—which seems to indicate that for now, if you want the game, PS4 and PC are your best bet.

Of course, “for now” also indicates that a Switch version might be a possibility in the future, or at least, that that hasn’t been ruled out. On the other hand, I say it’s best to assume it’s not happening, and just go get the PS4 or PC version instead.
