shenmue 3 update

If you are one of the people who made it through to the end of Shenmue – the original game – you probably remember Keiji Okayasu showing up in the credits as the director of the game. Today, Yu Suzuki intimated to all the people who have backed up the game on Kickstarter that Okayasu will be returning for Shenmue 3.

“We are very happy to have back this Shenmue veteran who helped deliver the goods the first time around, and look forward to him doing it again,” Suzuki said. “So, this month we would like to give an interview with Keiji to get to know a little bit more about him, and see what he hopes to accomplish as a director for Shenmue 3.”

Shenmue 3 is due out in 2017 – at the earliest – on PlayStation 4 exclusively, though Suzuki has not ruled out the game eventually releasing on other platforms. Let us know what you think in the comments section.
