Shin Megami Tensei 5

Teased during the Nintendo Switch reveal earlier this year and dubbed the Shin Megami Tensei HD Project, a recent livestream has confirmed that Atlus’s RPG for the console is indeed Shin Megami Tensei 5. The first teaser for the game can be seen below and as you’d expect, there are demons galore to deal with.

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, which is interesting given the success the company has seen with Persona 5 on the PS4 and PS3. Then again, Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse was exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and Atlus seems to be following the same trend with the next game.

No further details have been revealed but it’s safe to say that Shin Megami Tensei 5 will likely be releasing in 2018 for Nintendo’s console. One has to wonder about which gameplay elements will carry over into the sequel (the series’ signature turn-based battle system seems a given at this point).
