Shuhei Yoshida Can’t Promise A 2013 Release For The Last Guardian

Disappointing news for the fans.

Team ICO’s over-ambitious project, The Last Guardian, has been in development hell for some time (years) now. Gamers and several media outlets have been anticipating this game for some time now. But we have some bad news for you. Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida apparently can’t promise a 2013 release year for The Last Guardian.

He thinks it may disappoint the fans if they miss the release schedule again. Also, they have nothing concrete to show at the moment. He says that it will only be revealed when they are actually confident about it.

No, sorry, I can not say that,” he said when asked if the game will release in 2013 by JeuxVideo. “Because the last time we talked about a date for The Last Guardian, we finally disappointed many people. But I can tell you that the team is working hard on the project, including the engine. It is precisely because the teams working on the technical aspect of the game that we have nothing concrete to show you today. So now I’m waiting for the right time to introduce you to The Last Guardian and speak with confidence of a release date.”

This is indeed pretty disappointing news for all the players who were looking forward to this game. Personally, I think The Last Guardian will probably be a PlayStation 4 launch title. Hopefully we will know more about it next year.

Are you guys disappointed? Or would you rather wait a couple of months (or years) to get your hands on this product?
