Another month, another remake, and this time Silent Hill 2 gets the complete overhaul treatment. While much of the game will be familiar to old school players of the series, a few new surprises have been thrown into the mix in Silent Hill 2 Remake.

This guide lists all weapons that can be found in Silent Hill 2 Remake, alongwith their locations.

Wooden Plank

A simple plank of wood bristling with nails on one end. This melee weapon is pried off of a window during a cutscene, in one of the apartments immediately after the Radio is found.

The Wooden Plank is found during story progression in the early game, after crawling through the garage door to explore the apartment building on Martin Street.

Steel Pipe

The next melee weapon to be found, this metal pipe gives you a slightly improved range on your close combat strikes.

The Steel Pipe can be found in a cutscene during story progression, wedged into the hood of a car in an alley off of Katz Street, in the west side of South Vale.

Chainsaw

The top-tier melee weapon, this Chainsaw will rip and tear through enemies in one shot. Even bosses fold far quicker when the Chainsaw is out. This is why it is locked behind New Game Plus, and requires at least one completion of the game.

You will hear the Chainsaw well before you see it, buried in a log of wood directly opposite the sign to the Silent Hill Ranch, on the right side of the route.

The Handgun

Run of the mill semi-auto Handgun with a ten round magazine capacity.

The Handgun can be found lying in a red shopping cart in Room 217 on 2F of the Wood Side Apartments. Requires possession of the Flashlight in order to find it.

The Shotgun

The six-round Shotgun is devastating to crowds of enemies but much more difficult to wield than the Handgun.

The Shotgun can be found propped inside of a wide open locker in the Women’s Locker Room on 2F of Brookhaven Hospital.

The Hunting Rifle

The final firearm to be found in Silent Hill 2 Remake, the Hunting Rifle is also the most powerful of the ranged weapons. With a capacity of just four rounds, and a relatively longer time between shots, it more than makes up for it with precision, range, and the sheer power of each shot. Best reserved for boss fights where distance can be maintained. Ammunition is also much rarer.

The Hunting Rifle is locked away on a gun rack in the Armory of Toluca Prison. Requires the Armory Key to acquire it.

That is how to find every weapon in Silent Hill 2 Remake.
