In contrast is the villain, Claudia Wolf. Unlike Silent Hill 2, she’s a more pointed and immediate threat to Heather. However, her background paints a far more nuanced picture of tragedy and the justification of using hatred. Claudia was brainwashed by Dahlia Gillespie while growing up – nonetheless, she found some solace with Alessa, seeing her as a sister. Following Alessa’s subsequent disappearance at the end of Silent Hill 1, Claudia essentially lost everything. She thus set out to purge the world and use suffering as if her life – and all the suffering in it – would mean nothing if she didn’t.
