Lab Zero Games’ Skullgirls Encore has been delayed into early 2015 for the PlayStation 4 and Vita as revealed on the PlayStation Blog. The delay is in order to expand the project’s scope. The anime-esque 2D fighter takes cues from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in its gameplay in that you can unleash supers and set up three fighter teams for combat.

The delay is interesting because Eliza, a third character, has been added to the PlayStation 4 version. The character will be available as DLC for free in the coming three months. You’ll have to pay for it after the three month waiting period is up but if you get it now, it’s completely free.

Aside from “early 2015” there doesn’t seem to be any indication as to when the PS4/Vita port will be out. It could just as easily be out in March as it could in May so stay tuned for more information on the same.
