Skyrim for Nintendo Switch Gets New Screenshots

Looks special.

One of the most beloved games of all time will be hitting the Nintendo Switch later this year, when The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim launches for the platform in Holiday 2017. We got a brand new trailer for the game yesterday, which confirmed motion controls and amiibo compatibility. Now, we get some new screenshots for the game, which seem to confirm quite a few details more.

First off, it is now clear that this version is not based off the vanilla version. In spite of the missing ‘Special Edition’ moniker, it is now clear that this is based off the remaster released last year (even if some concessions to the Switch’s hardware may have had to be made in the process). The game looks beautiful on the Switch, and it should be great fun playing it when it releases. This, plus the confirmation of all DLC also being included with the game, seems to indicate that Skyrim on Switch will be on par with the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, with some Nintendo specific content added to it.

We don’t yet know when the game will be launching- hopefully a final release date is revealed during Nintendo’s show tomorrow. But we will keep you posted on all updates regardless, so stay tuned.
