Sleeping Dogs: 6 months DLC drop confirmed by Square Enix

The Call of Duty downloadable content formula, but not necessarily a bad thing.

Square Enix has announced that Sleeping Dogs–their open world crime simulator–will get 6 months DLC to bolster the game with more content.

The game was released earlier this year and scored a fantastic 8.5 at GB. You can read the review where we mentioned it is a worth buy.

United Front Games producer Dan Sochan confirmed to OPM that will be it will be completely standalone and nothing is included in the disc.

“A few months before we shipped Square told us they wanted to do DLC so we made sure we could technically do add ons. But we really spent every waking hour and then some making sure the game was as polished and as bug free as it could be,” he said.

“On the longevity of the Sleeping Dogs brand and the studio’s relationship with Square-Enix. Every contract is slightly different. More often than not with a new IP you want to assess the interest in the market, the consumers.

“How are people feeling a few months before launch? And you hedge your bets. Square, from the very beginning, were showing that they believed in us and believed in this game as a potential franchise.”

We don’t have much more information on the DLC but the information should be released soon from Square Enix.

Thanks, VG247.
