The Sniper Elite franchise has always had one hero at the helm – Karl Fairburne of the OSS. However, Sniper Elite: Resistance mixes things up by having Harry Hawker in the spotlight. Appearing in Sniper Elite 3 to help Fairburne take down the Afrika Korps, he’s now entering Southern France to stop the Nazis from developing a new Wunderwaffe.
In a new video, Rebellion’s head of design Ben Fisher and lead artist Simon Ible go into more detail about Hawker and his personality. Described as “composed, focused, and driven,” he’s not averse to doing anything necessary to defeat the Nazis. If something doesn’t work out, Hawker looks for another way while staying calm.
The story runs parallel to Sniper Elite 5 and ventures to Southern France during World War 2. While it’s known for D-Day, there’s plenty more conflict to resolve, with players venturing to the Alps, vineyards, chateaus and other locations to take down the Nazis.
Sniper Elite: Resistance launches on January 30th, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and PC. Deluxe Edition owners get advanced access on January 28th alongside the Season Pass for three post-launch DLC.
