SNK Will Announce A New NeoGeo Hardware Soon

What will this new NeoGeo look like?

SNK recently released their newest Samurai Shodown, which is proving to be a successful project for them. The company is looking to get back into the big leagues again after many years of being more on the edge of things. And to do that, they’re going to release a new NeoGeo piece of hardware.

In a recent tweet from their official Twitter, the company stated that a new NeoGeo was coming. They don’t state much, outside that it will have some ability to link to the NeoGeo Mini, a retro mini console they released earlier similar to the NES/SNES Classics Nintendo released.

Earlier in the year, SNK stated they were going to release more hardware at some point in time, so this isn’t too surprising. The main question now is what exactly will this new piece of equipment actually do? SNK entered the console business with the NeoGeo in 1990. While it’s doubtful whatever this is will actually set to compete with the current platform holders, it’ll still be interesting to see what the company’s boarder plans are.
