Sonic Frontiers Guide – All Challenges and Cyber Space Portal Locations

Sonic Frontiers isn’t technically an open-world game, what with the Starfall Islands divided into five different “open zone” regions. Nevertheless, each has much to do, from fishing to roaming bosses. But how many puzzles and challenges are on each?

The starting region, Kronos Island, has about 25 different Challenges and an additional “mystery” to solve. Ares Island, the second that players will travel to, has 29 Challenges and two unique puzzles. The third region is Chaos Island, which offers 24 Challenges and a cool pinball mini-game. Rhea Island is the fourth, but doesn’t sport any Challenges – instead, players have to disable six towers.

The map is small and easy to circumnavigate, so you shouldn’t have any issues finding each tower. Finally, the fifth region Ouranos Island has 27 Challenges. For each Challenge’s location and how to complete them, check out the videos below by Stickman Guides.

Cyber Space Portal Locations

In addition to Challenges, each region also has Cyber Space levels. These lead to more linear, 3D Sonic-style levels based on previous games. Green Hill, Sky Sanctuary, Chemical Plant, and many more make appearances. However, in addition to collecting Portal Gears to enter said levels, you also need to find the actual Portals.

Here are the locations for all of the Cyber Space Portals, starting with Kronos Island:

• Cyber Space Portal 1-1 – On the southeastern part of the smaller land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-2 – On the east side of the smaller land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-3 – Southern part of the larger land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-4 – Slightly north above Portal 1-3, almost in the center of the larger land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-5 – Slightly north above Portal 1-4.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-6 – To the west of Portal 1-5, on the western side of the larger land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 1-7 – To the south of Portal 1-6, just off the coast.

Next is Ares Island:

• Cyber Space Portal 2-1 – Nearly at the center of the map, slightly on the southern part of the main land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-2 – The southernmost part of the region, located on one of the smaller land masses.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-3 – Go northwest from Portal 2-1.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-4 – When going northwest from Portal 2-1, you’ll come across this portal before Portal 2-3.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-5 – On the western side of the region. Going west from Portal 2-4 will put you near its vicinity.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-6 – On the northern part of the region, north-west from Portal 2-3.
• Cyber Space Portal 2-7 – North from Portal 2-3, located in the northernmost part of the region on one of the smaller landmasses.

• Cyber Space Portal 3-1 – South on the main land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-2 – At the center of the region.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-3 – Off west on a smaller land mass, slightly going south.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-4 – North-east of Portal 3-2, just slightly north on the main land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-5 – North-west of Portal 3-2 on a smaller land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-6 – North-most part of the map, closer to the west side. Going north from Portal 3-5 will bring you there.
• Cyber Space Portal 3-7 – On the northeast part of the map. Going west from Portal 3-4 and slightly up will take you there.

Finally, there’s Ouranos Island:

• Cyber Space Portal 4-1 – On the eastern of the main land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-2 – On the southeastern part of the main land mass. Traveling southeast from Portal 4-1 will bring you there.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-3 – Near the center of the map, slightly to the west.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-4 – On the western side of the smaller land mass.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-5 – On the eastern side of the smaller land mass in the north-east-most part of the map.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-6 – On the western side of the larger land mass, slightly to the south. Going southwest from Portal 4-3 will bring you there.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-7 – On the western side of the larger land mass to the north. Traveling north-west from Portal 4-6 takes you there.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-8 – Go southeast from Portal 4-6.
• Cyber Space Portal 4-9 – Go southwest from Portal 4-6. Located on the southeast-most part of the map.
