The wait for a new 3D Sonic platformer has been a long one (and even longer if you want to put the likes of Sonic Forces and Sonic: Lost World out of your mind), but we’re not going to be waiting much longer. Sonic Frontiers is launching soon, and ahead of its imminent release, Sega has released a new trailer for the game.

Sonic Frontiers is, of course, going to be the series’ first open world outing (or “open-zone”, as Sega likes to call it). The Blue Blur will be traveling to the Starfall Islands in search of the Chaos Emeralds, and on his journey, he’ll be zooming through various locations, fighting a number of different enemies and bosses, and meeting various characters, both new and familiar. The new trailer, titled “Showdown”, offers glimpses at all of that and more. Check it out below.

Sonic Frontiers is set to launch on November 8 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Check out its PC requirements through here.
