Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is certainly coming out of the gate swinging with a content-heavy first patch to kick off Year Two.
This arcade racer is no stranger to dropping cool stuff into its gameplay loop, but Duel Mode is definitely our pick of the lot in a very impressive batch of additions. It pits you against another player in a 1v1 battle. Duel Boost gives you a chance to get back in the race if you find yourself eating your opponent’s dust. It happens, and more often than not, since you’re struggling to keep all four wheels firmly on the track.
Of course, the accompanying showcase video gave us a peek at Bayonetta, who’s coming to the game. Friendly Duel lets you remove the uncertainty of playing against a stranger by bringing a friend along. Trash talk isn’t included, so you’re going to have to get a little creative. Other modes are also coming to the game, and global community director Aaron Webber lays them out in concise detail.
The entire video’s below in case you want to learn more about what’s coming in this new update, which is likely to help Sega achieve that lofty goal it mentioned a while ago.
