Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Releasing on November 15th 2019

The blue blur will be heading to the big screen late next year.

Amidst all the news of a new Super Mario Bros. movie, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Sonic the Hedgehog will be getting a movie on November 15th 2019. You could be forgiven for thinking this news came out of nowhere.

Produced by Paramount, the film will see Tim Miller (director of Deadpool) as executive producer while Neal H. Moritz will be producing. Toby Ascher will also serve as executive producer as Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevon as co-producing. Interestingly, there will be a new director at the helm with Jeff Fowler debuting.

Who will voice Sonic and his friends and what the story will be hasn’t been revealed. Regarding whether it would be live-action or animated, Paramount noted that it would use both styles for the film, which seems to indicate a mix of live-action and CG. We’re not sure if that’s a good idea (remember Sonic Live?) but details are still pretty barren at this point.
