During the first PlayStation State of Play of 2024, Sega has unveiled an interesting remaster of a fan-favourite Sonic game. Featuring both Sonic as well as Shadow, the game is titled Sonic X Shadow Generations. Check out the trailer below.
Much like the original Sonic Generations, Sonic X Shadow Generations is a throwback to older games in the Sonic franchise, this time around featuring two unique experiences. The game will allow players to play as Shadow the Hedgehog in a new story campaign.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will also see the return of Sonic Generations‘ levels and gameplay, albeit remastered to work on newer platforms.
Going by the trailer, Sonic X Shadow Generations will feature a mix of 2D and 3D levels, all of which hearken back to classic levels and moments from the Sonic franchise. Among the gameplay shown off in the trailer, there were also glimpses of levels based on titles like Sonic Adventure 2.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is slated for a Fall 2024 release, and will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
