You’ll require a variety of dependable tools to aid you in gathering, crafting, building, exploring, and ultimately surviving in Sons of the Forest. This guide takes a look at all the tools and where you can find them.

All Tools and their Locations in Sons of the Forest

1. Lighter

Location – Open the emergency slot in your inventory to get the Lighter.

2. Modern Axe

Location – You need to head to a campsite with which has three black tents. You will find the axe in one of the black tents.

3. Rebreather

Location – Located inside a cave in northern coastline.

4. Repair Tool

Location – You can craft it yourself if you have 1x Rock, 1x Stick and 1x Rope.

5. Flare

Location – You can find it by opening orange cases found in the game’s world.

6. Flashlight

Location – Keep following the purple exclamation marker on your GPS tracker and head towards the snowy mountain.

7. GPS Locator

Location – Open your GPS tracker and look for a purple marker. Follow it to reach snowy mountain. There you will find a body suspended with a rope. Bring the body down, and you will get the item.

8. GPS Tracker

Location – Open the emergency slot in your inventory to get the GPS tracker.

9. Binoculars

Location – Located in the beach in the northwest. You need to look out for 2 orange life vests, 2 red kayaks and 2 supply crates.

10. Chainsaw

Location – Located in the cave entrance which is shared with the Recreational Bunker. Head towards the westmost 3D printer. Once there, you would need a Maintenance Keycard to get through the security doors. This is where you will find the chainsaw.

11. Rope Gun

Location – Located inside a cave with tons of cannibals. You will find the cave towards the western side of the map.

12. Shovel

Location – The shovel is also located in a cave on the western side of the map.

13. Tactical Axe

Location – Open the emergency slot in your inventory to get the Tactical Axe.

14. Utility Knife

Location – Open the emergency slot in your inventory to get the Utility Knife.

15. Can Opener

Location – Located near a snowy mountain cave entrance as indicated by your GPS tracker. There are two broken sleds and two red tents at this location. The can opener is located in one of the red tents.

16. Firefighter Axe

Location – Head to the green circle indicated by your GPS device (located towards the northwest of the snowy mountain). Note: You will need a shovel to get this item.

17. Guide Book

Location – Open the emergency slot in your inventory to get the Guide Book.
