In what might be a bit of an unexpected announcement, Sony has announced the existence, and rapidly approaching release, of Run, Sackboy! Run!, which is a free to play endless platform runner game starring Sackboy. What is an endless platform runner game, you ask? Well, think Temple Run or Dead Runner on your iOS or Android devices, and you get the idea. No, that is very literally it.

Run, Sackboy! Run! will also be compatible with LittleBigPlanet 3 when it releases later this year on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, allowing you to accrue reward points that unlock exclusive costumes in LittleBigPlanet 3.

It will be out on the PlayStation Vita, iOS, and Android. Yes, Sony won’t even make a free to play companion app game Vita exclusive now, that’s how sad things have gotten.

It is also out in October. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage on this game, sadly (because we’ll almost certainly be covering it).
