Every new console generation sees Sony bringing out various new first party IPs, and with the Sony Worldwide Studios lineup stronger and more in form than ever, that prospect is doubly exciting for the looming PS5. And if a recent report is to be believed, one of those projects is sounding quite interesting.
Recently, industry insider Emre Kaya took to Twitter and claimed that Sony is currently working on a new horror IP. And while that’s all that was said about it, we can still speculate about what that might end up being. The most likely candidate for its developer would be SIE Japan Studio- more specifically, their Gravity Rush team, which is headed up by Keiichiro Toyama, creator of the Silent Hill series, and who also made survival horror title Siren with Sony and SIE Japan for the PS2 (followed by its sequel Forbidden Siren 2).
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a new IP from SIE Japan. A recent leak claimed that Sony will hold a PS5 reveal event in February, where SIE Japan Studio’s new IP will be among the many games they talk about. Read more on that though here.
For now, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt, as is the case with any unverified insider leak. Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated in case we hear anything more.
I know I don't normally post about gaming stuff (except Batman related things) but I have learned that Sony is currently working on a new horror IP. Interesting…#PS5 #Playstation
