Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Hiroshi Kawano recently sent a message to fans thanking them for the high demand and sales of the PS4 and the Vita in Japan, while apologizing for the shortage of stocks. This was in celebration of and as thanks for the PS4 selling 7 million units worldwide.

Kawano mentioned that other than the PS4 selling like hot cakes, the Vita was also doing very well in the market, so much so, that many retailers have now run out of Vita stocks and there seems to be a shortage. Kawano first thanked fans for buying so many of Sony’s systems, and then promised that stocks for both will be renewed as soon as possible.

The commercial success of PS4 is pretty expected at this point, but it’s nice to see that the PS Vita too is doing well, albeit a little surprising.

Stay tuned for more info.
