Sony Recently Trademarked “Gnomageddon”

We don't know much of anything about Gnomageddon.

A recent trademark by Sony hints at a brand new game that could apparently be a combination of Gnomes running wild and the end of the world. Titled Gnomageddon there is almost nothing known about what this game really could be, beyond the fact that Sony believes the title is worthy of a trademark.

The filing was made on July 15 and partly because it’s so new, there isn’t much known about what Sony has in mind for this game. The documents show only that it is a planned video game and that there will be “real time” features if this game is ever actually made. The game also is apparently planned to have online multiplayer and that certainly sounds pretty sweet to us.

The only thing better than one gnome running around a video game, is a whole horde of gnomes that are all working together, or competing against each other and being directed by people from all over the world. No pictures of concept art were included with the filing, so we have literally no idea what direction this game is going to take. It’s always possible the game will never come to fruition too.

There are all kinds of patents filed by gaming companies all the time and most of them never see the light of day. Take the recent dropped trademark for Blinx by Microsoft. There are plenty of projects that are envisioned as a brand new game, or as an update that are never worked on after the company looks into it a bit more. It’s way to early to tell where Gnomageddon may go.
