Andy House, Sony president, introducing PS4

Now that Sony’s PS4 has been around for a little while the company believes it’s time for the console to start making some money. During a recent  briefing for Japanese investors and analysts, the company’s CFO Kenichiro Yoshida talked about what the company sees as the immediate future of the PS4.

“About two and half years have passed since the PlayStation 4 went on sale, and we believe we are beginning to enter the part of the console cycle where we harvest profits,” Yoshida said.

The PS4 was the best selling console in December and all of 2015 in US and Sony believes it will hit another 20 million units April by 2017 so the company has certainly had some serious success with their current generation console. The sky appears to be the limit to some degree, considering just how much success the company has had, especially when the PS4 is compared to the Xbox One.
