An update on the alleged hack of PSN, 2K Games & Windows Lives accounts. A few days ago we reported to you the alleged hack of thousands of game related accounts, well Sony have commented on the matter saying that there’s no real evidence that a hack has occured. Speaking to Joystiq, a Sony Representative has said, “We have investigated the claims that our network was breached and have found no evidence that there was any intrusion into our network.”

The representative further expanded on this by admitting that any online consumer with sensitive information faces a threat from outside parties looking to exploit it. “Unfortunately, Internet fraud including phishing and password matching are realities that consumers and online networks face on a regular basis. We take these reports very seriously and will continue to monitor our network closely.”

So while this is good news for the mean time, it doesn’t mean that a hack never took place, only that Sony haven’t found evidence of it.
