Jeez Ubisoft, let Sony announce the good news themselves.

Although Sony have not shared numbers officially yet, it loos like the combined effect of the Holiday Season spurring shopping worldwide, some aggressive promotions and bundles, and of course, the launch of the PS4 Pro, may have seen them move an obscene amount of units worldwide. According to Ubisoft employee Sunny Sanghera, who is responsible for data collation and analysis, Sony managed to move as many as 2 million consoles worldwide by Saturday last week.

“Over two million #PS4 consoles sold worldwide this week with a day remaining…. (That Watch Dogs 2 price promotion effect!),” he posted on his Twitter (via WCCFTech).

Sony have, of course, shared no numbers, though early reports, such as the sales results that we got from UK earlier today, seem to corroborate and reinforce the notion that the PS4 may have had a monstrous week last week in terms of commercial success. It’ll be interesting to see how much the Xbox One or the Nintendo 3DS sold, in comparison.
