Atlus has released a new video for Soul Hackers 2 with protagonist Ringo breaking down the different combat mechanics. If you’ve played Shin Megami Tensei or Persona, then the basics of striking an enemy’s weakness will be familiar. How COMPs play a part is where things diverse. Check it out below.

Each party member has a COMP which is loaded with different demons. The latter’s skills can be used by a character and once an enemy’s weakness is struck, you can summon a demon to create a “Stack.” Once the turn ends, all demons that have been summoned can attack at once. Up to 16 demons or Stacks can be summoned for a devastating attack.

There are also Tandem Skills which have a chance to trigger during a combination attack. These can heal allies, cause status ailments to enemies and more. You can also use Stack Optimization skills to increase the number of actions taken, boost a combination attack’s damage and more.

The video also provides a bit more context on Arrow, one of Ringo’s allies who received his own dedicated trailer. It’s mostly Ringo’s analysis but provides information on his predicament, role in battle and history with Kaburagi. Soul Hackers 2 is out on August 26th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
