South Korea Introduce ‘Cinderella Law’ Banning Under 16’s From Midnight Gaming

When Starcraft is sometimes referred to as your national sport, you know you’re a country with a lot of dedicated gamers. Alas, sometimes one can love a thing too much and South Korea has encountered numerous wide-spread issues regarding game addiction. In a bid to prevent younger players from developing said problems, the South Korean government are introducing a new ‘Cinderella’ law, whereby gamers under 16 years of age will be blocked from online play from midnight to 6am. This has, of course, kicked of a whole world of criticism in regards to the civil rights of children. The Korean Association of Game Industry, which includes several prominent businesses, is preparing a lawsuit based on its claim that the law is excessively prohibitive.
