Spider-Man: Edge of Time Review Round Up

Posted By | On 09th, Oct. 2011

The next game in the Spider-Man series is out, and being the sequel to the excellent Shattered Dimension, everybody had a lot of expectations from Spider-Man: Edge of Time. Reviews for the game have now started coming in, and it does not look good. But rather than you having to search the entire internet to see those not-so-positive reviews, we’ve listed all the reviews for the game (so far) below:

Game Chronicles- 8.8/10
“Whether you’re a die-hard Spidey fan or just looking for the next great action-fighting game, Edge of Time excels in every aspect of game design with solid combat, fun navigational puzzles, and one of the best cinematic presentations of any Spider-Man game to date.”

Planet Xbox 360- 8.3/10
“The story is tight and fast-paced; the presentation really shows Beenox’s improvements over the past few months; and the gameplay is engaging, even if there’s not much actual web-slinging to do this time around.”

Cheat Code Central- 8/10
“Even though the challenge of the game has not matured, it is ideal for anyone looking for a great Spider-Man experience.”

1UP- 6.7/10
“It’s a capable superhero action game that demonstrates that the team is getting better at crafting a Spider-Man game, but like most comic-licensed properties there is still room for improvement.”

Game Informer- 6.5/10
“Edge of Time is a major step back from the formula that worked.”

GameSpot- 6/10
“Spider-Man: Edge of Time tells an enjoyably absurd time-hopping tale, but stepping into the tights of its two heroes doesn’t feel as empowering as it should.”

Games Radar- 6/10
“For the devoted, Edge of Time is a nice rental with a weekend of passable web-slinging, but we hope, for Peter Parker’s sake, that this one marks the end of the character’s downward trend.”

GamePro- 6/10
“Don’t skip this new Spider-Man game, but just be aware that it’s a few strands short of a full web.”

Destructoid- 5/10
“Videogame fans want something more engrossing and comic book fans want something with more fan service. Spider-Man: Edge of Time satisfies neither demographic, and can safely be ignored by everybody.”

Joystiq- 5/10
“The staffers of Beenox may have done their research and read plenty of back issues, but if Spider-Man: Edge of Time is any indication, they never, ever wore the PJs.”

IGN- 4.5/10
“Edge of Time is more a case of the Remarkably Disappointing Spider-Man.”
