Analysts had already predicted some time ago that Spider-Man for the PS4 would be one of the best-selling games of the year, and it looks like they were right. The latest weekly sales charts in UK are out, courtesy of GFK Chart-Track, and Sony’s latest tops the list. What’s interesting is that, according to, Spider-Man is now the fastest selling game of the year so far in the UK. In fact, the game is off to such a fantastic launch that it is the fastest selling Marvel game we’ve ever seen.
Previously, Far Cry 5 was the fastest selling game of the year in the UK, but Spider-Man has now broken its record. What’s really impressive is the fact that the game is selling so fast even though it’s a PS4 exclusive. There have already been a lot of successful PS4 titles this year, but Insomniac’s latest has exceeded all expectations, even having doubled the number of copies when compared to God of War, which is certainly saying a lot! Additionally, it should also be noted that Spidey has topped these charts (till September 8) with just two days on the market.
Elsewhere, Dragon Quest XI also makes a strong debut, coming in at number 2, as does Destiny 2: Forsaken, ranking at eighth place. You can check out the full top 10 below.
