Spider-Man Will Be 30fps, Won’t Have Microtransactions

Plus, Mary Jane Watson will be playable as well!

Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man will be, much like other games by the developer, 30 frames per second, the studio confirmed in a rapid fire Q&A session with Game Informer. The frame rate will hold true across the PS4 and the PS4 Pro.

Insomniac Games also confirmed something else during this chat that should greatly appeal to the legions of fans of single player games that Sony has cultivated—the game will have nothing in the way of microtransactions.

That’s excellent news—Spider-Man is a hugely lucrative property, and it would have been all too easy for Sony to try and slip in microtransactions for the mass audiences that will likely buy the game. Thankfully, they won’t be doing that.

Finally, in what should be appealing news to Spider-Man fans, Mary Jane Watson will apparently be playable in the game as well—so that should be great. Spider-Man is due out exclusively on the PlayStation 4 come September 7.
