Splatoon 2’s First Splatfest Announced For Europe, Asks Players To Pick Between Ketchup and Mayonnaise

Nintendo, what the hell

Posted By | On 21st, Jul. 2017

Splatfests are incredible- these are timed events in Nintendo’s Splatoon, which ask players to pick a side between two and then fight for its honor and glory over a weekend. Over the course of multiple Splatfests, players have settled some important issues such as Water Slides or Roller Coasters, Hotdogs or Hamburgers, Pokemon Red or Pokemon Blue, and Ice Cream or Cake.

And now, the newest Splatfest, announced for Europe for all Splatoon 2 players, asks players to pick a side between… ketchup or mayonnaise. Ketchup and mayonnaise. Seriously. What the hell is this, Nintendo. You can’t have either by themselves! I suppose ketchup is a more universal condiment, but still…

The Splatfest has only been announced for Europe at the moment (North America and Japan are likely to get their own ones announced later), and it will be held over the first weekend of August. Splatoon 2 itself is out now on Nintendo Switch exclusively.
