Splatoon 2

Nintendo’s Splatoon 2 has received its newest Splatfest event, which began on August 4th, 9 PM PT in the United States and will start at 3 PM BST on August 5th in the UK. The event will run for 24 hours and much like the last event in the World Premiere Demo, it’s all about food. A new map will be featured in the form of Shifty Station.

This time around, the game simply asks: Mayonnaise or Ketchup? Pledge to either condiment at the Inkopolis Square voting booth and get to work in Turf War. The wins gained in Turf War will go towards your faction’s score. Once the event ends, players will receive rewards based on their ending rank and receive some Super Sea Snails. These are rare items for adding more slots to one’s gear.

Sadly, the new map will only be available be in rotation for Splatfest. That being said, the layout can change by the next Splatfest event. You’ll also be able to use a weapon from the first Splatoon, the Sploosh-O-Match which has short range but high damage. In sub-weapon form, it’s the Curling Bomb while its special attack is called Splashdown.
