Splatoon Raiders

After a relative non-presence in recent showcases, Nintendo has suddenly announced Splatoon Raiders, a spin-off game coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Check out its reveal in the “Research Report from Squid Research Lab” video below.

In Splatoon Raiders, players take on the role of a mechanic who ventures to the Spirhalite Islands with Shiver, Frye and Big Man, aka Deep Cut from Splatoon 3. The trio ventures to the mysterious location via helicopter after finding a map in some basement but ends up crashing.

A strange vortex with a glowing light is seemingly at the heart of the Spirhalite Islands and responsible for their predicament. The group must survive in the middle of nowhere, and though the gameplay loop is unknown, a few shots feature Deep Cut fishing and the protagonist spraying Big Man. A machine is also shown accompanying the player.

Judging by the fishing rig out on the water, perhaps Splatoon Raiders is a survival crafting sandbox game. A release window hasn’t been announced, with the video teasing that research is “still underway.” With Nintendo attending this year’s Gamescom, maybe we’ll learn more there. Stay tuned in the meantime.
