Splinter Cell Blacklist Trailer Showcases New Night Vision Goggles

Oh how we've missed the green tinge.

Community developer Zack Cooper returns for another Splinter Cell: Blacklist video, showcasing the new and far more improved Night Vision goggles that Fourth Echelon leader Sam Fisher will be using in the upcoming stealth action title.

Unlike Conviction, which facilitated switching them on and off since details became fuzzier as you moved around, the new Night Vision covers everything in a green tinge instead. More realistic, for sure, but it also clearly outlines light sources rather than making them horribly blinding like the previous game.

It should be noted that Sam will once again have a portable EMP device for shutting off the lights unlike the EMP grenades found in conviction. Good to see a more refined Splinter Cell approach rather than the Liam Neeson approach of Conviction.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is currently set to release for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on August 20th in North America and August 23rd in Europe.
