Square almost completed Final Fantasy Type-0 localization last year- Rumour

But they scrapped the project later on.

People have been waiting for the currently Japan-only PSP title, Final Fantasy Type-0 to be released in the Western markets for a long time now. But from the looks of it, the “currently” Japan-only title might remain a Japanese exclusive for some time to come- maybe even forever.

Operation Suzaku is a fan petition imploring Square Enix to bring Type-0 to the West. One of its sources, who decided to remain anonymous, said reportedly reocrded voice overs for the game, and said that 90% of the localization had been done.

However, unfortunately, Square Enix went ahead and decided to put the project on hold, since the hardware and software sales for Sony’s PSP has been deteriorating. The publisher is now waiting to see if there is any demand amongst the fans for the title.

Who know, we could get it as a PS Vita title.

This is bad news, though. I personally have been looking forward to play the game for some time now. Let’s hope we all get to play it soon.
