The world has increasingly become a global one, and many of the franchises that have been ‘stuck’ in one region or another have found themselves exposed worldwide by now. But there are still some franchises that are exclusive to a certain country. Such is the case for Gunslinger Stratos, an arcade series that has been only available in Japan since its creation in 2012. Now, though, that could be changing.

Square Enix filed a new trademark for the game in Europe, which you can see here. The series involves two factions, time traveling from the year 2115 to the past of 2015 to wipe out the existence of the other. You use a variety of weapons and tactics to take out foes.

The series has been only an arcade one, probably the main reason its been Japan-only for so long. It’s fairly doubtful the arcade cabinets would be brought outside the country, so it’s possible a console or PC version is in the works. Hopefully, we’ll get a taste of this series worldwide soon.
