Square Enix: We won’t remake FF7 until a current FF game tops the original

Posted By | On 26th, Jun. 2012

Oh boy, Square Enix’s CEO Yoichi Wada has given one of the most weirdest reasons as to why the company isn’t remaking Final Fantasy 7.

He mentioned that unless there is a Final Fantasy game that tops it, they will not remake it. According to me, they don’t have any money or time to do it, but that would be a really logical reason.

In a way he is confirming that they haven’t been making good Final Fantasy games that sells as well as FF7 did, and the HD FF games weren’t that successful either.

Wada revealed this during the company’s annual shareholder meeting. Square Enix released an FF7 tech demo running on the PS3 when the console was launched, and that’s one of the main reasons why fans want it so much.
